I have had the one of the best vacation experiences this last trip. As soon as I got there My love picked me up and we went home to watch the UEFA games. Soon afterwards we were having drinks and dinner at Bajatzu.

Each time that Esteban comes home for his semester break we end up having some great times. This time was no exception. We partied, we beached, we referred, we watched EURO 2008, we met new people and keep up with old friends. Most of all we caught up with each other!

It was super great to have him here for the Euro Cup and to watch Spain win! It just made us more excited about our upcoming trip to London and Madrid in August.

Esteban got more of a taste for my hectic schedule this semester, but he never

complained :) What a sweet and understanding guy that I have in my life. The stressful schedule will be nothing like clinical rotations or residency and I'm so glad that he's getting the exposure to the chaos now.

Our last day we spent on Pinel Island where we snorkled and sunbathed. It was a pleasant end to his vacation and our time spent together for now.

I guess it is just a reminder of how fragile we all are and how vulnerable especially in our moments of triumph, celebration, and exploration. I am truly saddened today to have lost a colleague - the first in my class to leave this earth. That Marcel would be the first among us to go....well it just sends me into disbelief. He will be missed.

We had an awesome night in Fort Lauderdale in May when we got to see Augustana. This band is amazing. I saw them last year at Austin City Limits and their performance was stellar. This show was no exception. The highlight of the show was their acapela song "Reasons" and their piano banging "Fire". Esteban and I had a great time mingling with the pretty mixed and easy going crowd.

As you can see I have burnt myself pretty well. One day as the temperature of the stove top was left on high I decided to cook chicken. I stabbed the chicken with a fork as a lifted to cover of the frying pan. I look to my left hand the chicken with the fork is there slowly going down into the pan but suddenly splashes of hot burning oil was danced on my arm as the chicken left the fork and dove into the pan.

Well my damaged arm seems to be getting better now. Although this incident is going to leave a mark forever teaches me something about patience. Everybody needs patience otherwise mistakes happen.

Well this semester has gone well so far. I've been keeping up and have time for community service and school associations!!! Amazing how much time I have now that I'm only taking the regular credit load.

This weekend I am heading to Miami to see Baban and to see Augustana, who is a band I first heard at Austin City Limits Festival in 2007. Pictures to come later.....

This "blog it" feature that I recently found on Typepad is a really amazing facebook blog tool called "blog it" which is developed by Typepad blog hosting company that is owned by "Six Apart" blogging platform developers. What this tool does is give the user the option to multi post to different Micro-blogs and Blogs. I was able to write an article to my facebook, pownce, blogspot, twitter and tumblr blog profiles with this amazing application.

Boston Red Sox

This is Esteban's first baseball game and he was pretty excited! I was massively impressed by how well the Rays played and their home crowd support. Red Sox Nation was out enforce, but unfortunately we lost 2-1 with a homer coming in in the 8th inning.

Third Semester

Well,

I am now a second year medical student. I worked so hard and I loved what I learned. I made a lot of discoveries and I hope that in the future they make my patients well.

As the semester ended we had a great party. The parties can never last but the people who made the semester so great will always stay in my memory.

Hey my lil blog.

I been kinda getting nervous of these up coming tests. I have an algebra and foundations of success class that I'm preparing myself for. The web design final i have in the palm of my hands and so do i with the Cisco classes. so the only one that im worried about is the ones with numbers. Besides that my plane awaits me at MIA next week thursday for the spring break. I have been missing my girlfriend a lot lately. Constantly have thinking on how she is doing.... hopefully she is alright.

Well, I made it through tests. That was amazing. I'm a little scared to throw all of myself into it and just dedicate myself to this career. I'm also a little scared about dedicating myself to my relationship, sometimes I get so overwhelmed and I'm afraid of messing it all up. But at the end of the day I go to bed thinking I love medicine and I love Esteban.

He's coming home soon and I can't wait to share a nice stroll on Baie Rouge with him and drink some of "Raymond's Special" frozen drinks. He is so amazing. I'm just luck to have found him.

half way mark

Okay, okay, well I've made it thru more than half the semester and still have 3 Block Exams to take...! I wish they would have scheduled the exams better, but we are on a new exam schedule where they put all the exams on the same day, which for me means I take four 2 hour exams. It's exhausting.

I've been missing Esteban a lot the past few weeks since seeing him during Valentine's Day. I am hoping he can come to St. Maarten during his break, but we'll have to see if the money situation works out.

Overall I'm a little nervous about tests next week, but I'm trying to keep the anxiety under wraps. I have a good feeling about it though - I'm sure that this week will be really productive and I'll nail my stuff down.

Hey readers!

I made it throught the semester exams and got 100% on my ccna classes and 98% on webdesign! it was amazing! I had an amazing time on Amelia island in the "south." It's the first time that I saw the trailer people of the south and the southern bells "the ladies with the accent from the south" hte restaurants were amazing and romantic. valentines day we happened to bump into a Jamaican and Trinidadian couple. Felt good to meet other people from the caribbean in the south. Even tho they were cocolos. The Fairbanks bed and breakfast was one of a kind experience for a first timer to this "bed and breakfast" inns. My Adriana and i love eachother sooooo much and she is one of the best things that has ever happened to me on m life .

Made It and Had A Great Valentine's

Well, I passed all my exams. I'm ecstatic. So, going home to West Palm to see Esteban was much more sweet! We spent a great long weekend in Amelia Island, Florida at the Fairbanks Bed and Breakfast. It was an amazing little southern town. I think Esteban was quite entranced by everything "Southern" that we encountered.

Overall Valentine's weekend was fabulous and now I'm ready to get back to work and finish this semester. Only 8 weeks to go. I can't believe how it flies.

On the Horizon

Well Exams are on the horizon. Time flies, even when you are stuck in the library all day and half the night. I am pretty confident about these first tests. It's when the exhaustion hits around week 14 that Comprehensive Finals haunt you in your dreams.

Overall I'm pretty happy with island life. Now if only my leg would cooperate with me. It's be a little numb for about a week (compressed nerve- self diagnosed and seconded by a licensed doctor). With a little rehab I'll be back to 100% by Valentine's Day. I better be...I'm going to see Esteban!

Wow what a vacation. I stayed by my baby Adrianas appartment. first day i got there i stayed home for a while and then hit sunset and then kuta beach. I got there the 21st of december. chilled out a couple days by tim in simpson bay and then some in pelican. we got a bit mashed and im going to post some of the funny pics and videos over at facebook. besdies that new years was exellent. We spent it in taloulas mangos in front street boardwalk. After the fireworks we alllllll went to club mansion in simpson bay.

This is my post before I go to the caribbean. I'm currently chilling out with the boys. It's my last night here but I come back on the 8th of January for my second semester. Kinda nervous about going back home but i get to see all my friends and my cougar on the 25th. she flies in on christmas day. Will be posting from the caribbean. see you in SXM!!!!

Second Year Has Begun

So, I'm two weeks into being a second year medical student. Things have been going alright. I am a little paranoid of the first few test, but luckily those occur tomorrow so I'll get to see how I am progressing.

Overall the island of St. Maarten has been treating me well. I like my house and my new surroundings. However, I find myself desiring more and more to be alone rather than with people. I think that happens to a lot of medical students. You just find yourself withdrawing more and more into your books and notes.

Well, back to the books. I have at least 3 hours left of reviewing Neuro and Physio. Luckily, I find Pathology to be a snap so at least there is not a lot to worry about there.

Going back

I'm on the eve of going back to medical school after taking a semester off. After finishing my first year of medical school I decided "Hey I need a break". So, now the break is over and I'm a little nervous to get back and enter into my second year of medical school.

In the past 4 months I've travelled the world (Africa, Europe, US) and spent an amazing time with friends, colleagues, and my boyfriend. I've been fortunate to take this time to meditate on the medical profession - the art of medicine. I've seen it from the gory and glorious inside and outside over the past months. Overall, my experiences have surpassed all those from my previous years in the medical field.

I head back to medical school humbled and nervous. I know the path before me in exacting detail and ironically that does not waylay my fear, rather the challenges ahead excite me and implore me to push forward towards my goals.
